01 / The compound

Understand
the starting point.

AEDG tetrapeptide & cellular aging models

Epithalon, commonly referred to as Epitalon in scientific literature, is a tetrapeptide composed of four amino acids: alanine, glutamic acid, aspartic acid, and glycine — abbreviated AEDG.

The peptide was developed through research into the amino-acid composition of Epithalamin, a peptide preparation derived from bovine pineal tissue. Epithalon and Epitalon refer to the defined AEDG tetrapeptide; Epithalamin is a different, more complex pineal-derived preparation and should not be treated as another name for the same compound.

Same AEDG tetrapeptide. The different spellings are used across scientific literature and commercial research markets.

Epithalamin refers to the pineal-derived peptide preparation associated with the historical research that led to AEDG.

02 / Research profile

The pathways.
The possibilities.

Studies investigate telomere biology and telomerase-related measurements alongside neuroendocrine and circadian endpoints. These are different lines of experimental work and do not establish a single, general mechanism across organisms.

01 / Research focus

Telomere & Telomerase Research

Epithalon has been investigated in cultured human cells for its relationship with telomere biology and telomerase activity. An early fibroblast study reported telomerase activation and telomere elongation following Epithalon exposure. More recent research has examined telomere length alongside hTERT, telomerase activity, and alternative lengthening of telomeres pathways across normal and cancer cell models.

02 / Research focus

Pineal & Circadian Research

Epithalon has also been investigated in neuroendocrine and circadian research. In aged rhesus monkeys, researchers reported changes in evening melatonin production and cortisol circadian patterns following Epithalon exposure. These findings should be interpreted within the specific animal model and experimental conditions used.

03 / Research focus

Aging & Lifespan Research Models

Experimental studies have investigated Epithalon in aging-related and lifespan models. In Drosophila melanogaster, researchers reported increased lifespan under specific experimental conditions. These findings should be interpreted within the particular organism, methodology and experimental conditions used and should not be generalized beyond those models.

Reading the evidence

Epithalon research spans cell-based, animal and mechanistic experimental systems. Evidence strength varies substantially by research model, methodology and endpoint. Findings from cultured cells, Drosophila, rhesus-monkey models and other experimental systems should be interpreted within the conditions of the individual study. Further controlled research is needed to determine the relevance and reproducibility of reported findings across different models.

How testing works
01 / Purity

What is in the sample?

HPLC separates components under a defined method. Read the reported percentage alongside the chromatogram, wavelength, integration method, and scope of the test.

02 / Identity

Is it the expected compound?

Mass spectrometry provides molecular-mass evidence. Identity and chromatographic purity answer different questions; one cannot stand in for the other.

03 / Traceability

Does the report match the vial?

Connect the product name, variant, lot identifier, report date, and issuing laboratory. A report is useful only when its sample can be linked to the material being reviewed.

Independent analysis

Every Epitalon lot is analyzed by Nordicstar Analytical Sciences for identity, content, and purity by HPLC with LC-MS confirmation. Each certificate carries a report number and verification key that can be checked at nordicstarlabs.com/verify. Research references below describe published science, not a certificate for a vial.

06 / Common questions

A little more
understanding.

Are Epithalon and Epitalon the same peptide?

Yes. Epithalon and Epitalon are spelling variants used for the same four-amino-acid peptide, Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly (AEDG). Epitalon is commonly used in scientific literature, while Epithalon is also widely recognized.

Is Epithalamin the same as Epithalon?

No. Epithalamin and Epithalon should not be treated as the same substance. Epithalamin refers to a peptide preparation derived from bovine pineal tissue. Epithalon, or Epitalon, is the defined AEDG tetrapeptide developed from research involving that preparation.
